This study presents a new method to find the optimal control forces for active tuned mass damper. The method uses three algorithms: discrete wavelet transform (DWT), particle swarm optimization (PSO), and linear quadratic regulator (LQR). DWT is used to obtain the local energy distribution of the motivation over the frequency bands. PSO is used to determine the gain matrices through the online update of the weighting matrices used in the LQR controller while eliminating the trial and error. The method is tested on a 10‐story structure subject to several historical pulse‐like near‐fault ground motions. The results indicate that the proposed method is more effective at reducing the displacement response of the structure in real time than conventional LQR controllers.  相似文献

In organizations with a centralized decision making environment, production usually involves the participation of more than one individual unit, each contributing in part to the total production. The planning problem involves determining the number of products to be produced by all individual units in the next season when demand changes can be forecasted. This paper introduces a data envelopment analysis approach to making future production plans in a centralized decision making environment when demand changes can be forecasted in the next production season. The approach proposed in this paper takes the size of operational units into account so that the planned production for each unit becomes proportionate to the ability of the units. A real world data set is used to illustrate the applicability of the approach.  相似文献

In this study, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code was developed to calculate the filling pattern using volume of fluid (VOF) algorithm with donor–acceptor method for free surface simulation. This algorithm has been modified to include the pressure of the gas produced from foam degradation. For this purpose a heat transfer model and 2D foam degradation model were developed. In heat transfer model, radiation and conduction between foam and molten metal; and convection between gas and molten metal were considered. In order to evaluate the results of simulation, a bench scale casting apparatus was assembled and the casting was conducted in a transparent mold. The effect of several parameters such as coating thickness, foam density and vacuum level on the gap temperature, gap pressure and filling speed was studied with the developed software. It was found that the simulated results are in good agreement with experimental results.  相似文献

A typical hybrid nanostructure was prepared consisting of lead sulfide (PbS) nano-crystals, embedded in titanium oxide (TiO2) using sol-gel method. The synthesis procedure was monitored by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Spectroscopic investigations indicated that PbS nano-crystals are embedded in the TiO2 matrix with no strong Ti-O-Pb-S bonding. The size of PbS hybrid nanostructures decreased with diminishing lead and sulfur mole concentrations. The smallest size of NCs has been obtained in 10% of mole concentration (30-45 nm particle size for the hybrid nanostructure). The morphology and microstructure of the nano hybrid was investigated by scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The control of crystal size distribution (CSD) is investigated in a 1.5 L laboratory cooling KCl crystallizer using fines dissolution rate as the manipulated variable. The controlled variable was either the fines suspension density in the fines withdrawal loop, measured by an innovative double‐sensor turbidity meter manufactured in‐house, or the chord length distribution (CLD) measured by the Focused Beam Reflectance Measurement (FBRM®) probe (model: Par‐Tec® 100, Lasentec®, Redmond, WA). It was shown that effective control of mean crystal size and fines suspension density in the presence of setpoint and disturbance changes is feasible with both control schemes. The double sensor turbidity sensor proved to be very rugged even in the presence of insoluble clay background particles. The FBRM® probe was more sensitive and capable of detecting particle breakage and flocculation.  相似文献

This paper attempts to propose a new method based on capabilities of artificial neural networks, in function approximation, to attain the solution of optimal control problems. To do so, we try to approximate the solution of Hamiltonian conditions based on the Pontryagin minimum principle (PMP). For this purpose, we introduce an error function that contains all PMP conditions. In the proposed error function, we used trial solutions for the trajectory function, control function and the Lagrange multipliers. These trial solutions are constructed by using neurons. Then, we minimize the error function that contains just the weights of the trial solutions. Substituting the optimal values of the weights in the trial solutions, we obtain the optimal trajectory function, optimal control function and the optimal Lagrange multipliers.  相似文献

Concrete buildings reinforced by plain (smooth) bars are one of the special types of old reinforced concrete buildings that were generally built before the 1970s. As columns are generally the most important structural members of a framed structure, understanding their realistic seismic behavior is very helpful in estimating structural deformations, forces and energy dissipation capacities. Furthermore, in most of old‐framed building structures, columns play a key role in the final behavior because of strong beam–weak column conditions. This article reports the results of experimental monotonic and cyclic tests on four concrete column specimens reinforced by plain bars and with various types of splices. Through the experimental results, it tried to obtain more clarification on the complicated behavior of such old reinforced members as well as the differences compared with relevant results of columns reinforced by deformed bars. It was realized that slip (fixed‐end rotation) contribution is the major source of deformation in all specimens independent from type of splices. Moreover, general mode of behavior was restrained‐rocking action independent of type of splice detailing. A simple theory for the explanation of hysteresis force–displacement response was proposed. A method is developed for the calculation of the saturation temperature of a KCI-NaCI aqueous solution, based on the measurement of the density and temperature of a sample solution, and prior knowledge of the NaCl concentration. Experimental density and solubility data for solutions saturated with KCI in the temperature range of 299 to 321 K with concentrations of NaCl greater than 0.200 kg/kg H2O were used to develop the empirical correlation allowing the calculation of the solution saturation level. The method is applicable in the on-line determination of the level of supersaturation in a KCI crystallizer in which the NaCl concentration is known. Knowledge of the prevailing supersaturation is necessary for the control of crystal purity and crystal size distribution in industrial potash crystallizers.  相似文献

Abstract

This paper proposes an on-line maximum torque per ampere (MTPA)/maximum torque per voltage (MTPV) trajectory tracking method in permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) with power management. The on-line MTPA/MTPV machine current trajectory tracking algorithm is developed from PMSM model. Maximum source current and machine current are regulated to enhance hardware protection during machine current trajectory tracking. The maximum source current management is achieved by iterating within the current trajectory tracking algorithm over continuous torque command modifications based on power flow analysis, and the maximum machine current management is achieved by torque command limiting based on current angle modulation. Different from the existing techniques in literature, the proposed method has an unique feature of providing on-line regulation of source current, while maintaining on-line MTPA/MTPV trajectory tracking in PMSMs. It also provides machine and inverter overcurrent regulation to enhance their protection. In addition, the proposed method is flexible to tune and does not require off-line calibration. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by simulation results in MATLAB.  相似文献

Many of the large-scale biomass combustion systems for producing heat, hot water, or steam accept biomass fuels containing relatively large amounts of moisture. Dry biomass burns at higher temperatures and thermal efficiencies than wet biomass. Flame temperature is directly related to the amount of heat necessary to evaporate the moisture contained in the biomass, the lower the moisture content, the lower the amount of energy needed to remove the water and the higher the boiler efficiency. In this article, a simple predictive tool is developed to estimate boiler efficiency as a function of stack gas temperature and sugarcane bagasse moisture content. The method quantitatively illustrates the effect of moisture content on the performance of a thermochemical process, for the direct combustion of sugarcane bagasse in a conventional boiler. The results are found to be in excellent agreement with reported data in the literature with average absolute deviation being around 1%. The tool developed in this study can be of immense practical value for engineers to have a quick check on biomass moisture content on the boiler performance at various conditions without opting for any experimental trials. In particular, engineers would find the approach to be user-friendly with transparent calculations involving no complex expressions.  相似文献
